The French motorway network is equipped with toll badge readers, offering drivers greater comfort as they travel through toll areas.
Motorhome toll badges save you time by letting you avoid the queues that often build up at toll areas. While motorhomes cannot use the 30km/h fast lanes with a 2m height restriction, you are free to use all other automatic lanes reserved for class 2 vehicles (including caravans and motorhomes over 2 metres and under 3 metres in height, with a maximum authorised weight of 3.5 tonnes).
For motorhome drivers, the toll badge is ideal. Not only does it save you time by avoiding the queues at toll areas, but it also eliminates the hassle of cash, toll tickets, and so on. Forget about low ticket machines and card readers that are hard to reach! Glide through the toll with ease, without even stopping.
Bip&Go offers subscription plans for toll badges perfectly suited to the needs of motorhome drivers:
Fixed-rate plan: ideal for those who use the motorway regularly;
Pay-as-you-go plan: perfect for drivers who only occasionally use major motorways.
Whether you want to use your badge just for holidays or you plan to travel more frequently throughout the year, we have a plan to suit your needs.
The toll badges we offer are suitable for class 1, class 2, and class 5 vehicles. As most caravans and motorhomes are class 2, Bip&Go toll badges are perfectly suited for this use. When approaching a toll area, check your vehicle category and the height of your motorhome’s roof box before choosing your lane.
Note that some motorhome models require the toll badge to be placed at the bottom of the windscreen, while others need it at the top. For the correct position, refer to your manufacturer’s instructions.

Motorway tolls in France for motorhomes: the same rules apply to all vehicles in the same category. The toll depends on the motorway used, the distance travelled, and your vehicle’s category. Choose your lane at the toll area according to your vehicle class and equipment. To help travellers, Sanef has set up a toll calculator so you can estimate your journey cost. Some French motorways are toll-free. Check before you travel.
Motorhome tolls in Italy: as in France, many Italian motorways are toll-paid. You can easily pay your tolls with the Bip&Go Europe badge. Please note that in Italy you choose your toll lane based on your payment method, not your vehicle category.
Motorway charges for motorhomes in Spain: in Spain, only certain motorways are toll-paid. You can find the list and a comparison tool on the Autopistas website (Spanish motorways). The 3-country toll badge lets you pass through tolls faster and centralise your invoices.
Motorhome freedom in Portugal: Portugal has two types of toll areas: traditional toll areas, where you stop to collect a ticket, and "Free-flow" toll zones, where a gantry scans your number plate and there’s no need to stop. Payment for the latter can be tricky, especially for European holidaymakers. We recommend ordering your France, Spain, Portugal toll badge to avoid any payment issues.
