All about the A7 motorway

You're probably preparing for a wonderful holiday in our beautiful French sunshine, heading for the Mediterranean Sea! And to do this, you will most likely use the A7 motorway , commonly known as the " sunshine motorway ". Connecting Lyon to Marseille, the A7 motorway covers 312km and is an extension of the A6.

During the holiday period, particularly in July and August, many motorists experience holdups that prolong their journey. This is particularly the case in the Valence area or in Lançon de Provence, between its toll booth and Salon-de-Provence.
To avoid these traffic jams at the toll booths, there’s nothing better than using the Bip&Go electronic toll badge !

The Bip&Go electronic toll badge on the A7 motorway

In addition to having the electronic toll system , each of the toll stations on the A7 motorway has specific 30km/h "T" lanes . Practical for avoiding traffic jams at the toll booth! You will be able to drive on all toll lanes, whether they are specific lanes or not.

Unfortunately, Bip&Go does not have any branches on the A7 motorway, but don't panic, you can easily get a Bip&Go electronic toll badge online ! You can easily manage your electronic toll subscription in our subscriber area.

Do you need an electronic toll subscription for the A7 motorway ?
If you want an electronic toll badge for your holidays, choose the Bip&Go “Pay as you go” electronic toll subscription or the Bip&Go “Liber-t Vacances” electronic toll subscription (available only in France).
On the other hand, if you drive frequently (several times a year), you’ll prefer our Bip&Go “Fixed price” electronic toll subscription .

What is there to do or visit on the A7 motorway?

First of all, you can visit the beautiful city of Lyon , known for its “bouchons” and taste its local specialities (quenelles, pink praline tarts, Lyonnaise salads etc.) Why not also attend the Festival of Lights at the beginning of December, a match in the Lyon stadium or discover the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière!

Continuing on the A7 motorway, you can stop off in Vienne to see the Temple of Augustus and Livia. As an activity, you can simply cycle or boat along the Rhône.

Another stopover in Montélimar , this time to visit a factory that makes the famous Montélimar Nougat (without forgetting to taste it).

We continue our epic journey on the A7 towards Orange , to discover its ancient theatre and its special atmosphere.
